Position Overview:
Love being outdoors, don't mind a bit of physical work, and want to help homes look their best? We're looking for a dependable Paint Prep Technician to join our crew for residential exterior painting projects across Calgary and the surrounding area.
This role runs through the rest of the season, wrapping up around mid to late October, 2026 (weather permitting), with the chance to come back for the April to October 2027 season if it's a good fit on both sides.
You'll help get homes ready for their fresh coat of paint, from surface prep to cleanup, all while working safely at heights. If you're detail-oriented, physically up for the challenge, and bring a solid work ethic, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mask exterior surfaces of homes, including windows, doors, trim, and foundations
- Power wash siding, decks, and other surfaces to get them paint-ready
- Sand decks, railings, and wooden surfaces for a smooth finish
- Help move supplies and pitch in on minor repairs and touch-ups
- Operate a boom lift and scissor lift (asset but not required)
- Keep the worksite clean and organized
- Follow safety protocols at all times
Qualifications:
- Experience with paint prep, such as masking, sanding, or power washing (an asset, but not required, we're happy to train the right person)
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle to travel between sites as needed in Calgary and surrounding areas
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Comfortable working at heights on a lift and ladder
- Detail-oriented with an eye for quality
- Ready to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Additional Details:
- Must be available for up to 10-12 hour days, plus Saturdays as needed
- Hours are project dependent and not guaranteed.
Rate: $25 per hour, plus overtime after 8 hours per day.
