Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Carpenter to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, safety-conscious, and interested in developing a comprehensive skill set in the building trades. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge and grow within the carpentry industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior carpenters with framing, finishing, and installation tasks on residential and commercial projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project execution
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform concrete forming, concrete finishing, and basic welding as needed for various projects
- Support with siding installation, restoration work, and other specialized carpentry tasks
- Participate in heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on job sites
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Skills
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely
- Knowledge of concrete forming, concrete finishing, vinyl siding installation, framing and metal roof/siding installation experience is an asset
- Experience or training in welding is advantageous but not required
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills in carpentry and construction
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for manual labor tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing

Pay: $20.00-$34.00 per hour
