Under the direction of the Distribution Manager, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for directly supporting the Shipping and Receiving teams, working in collaboration with the Packaging and Distribution teams. Core responsibilities include leading and managing the shipping and receiving staff and related functions, prioritizing order completion to align with departmental goals and dispatching company drivers. Responsible for ensuring proper customer orders are assembled and in good shipping condition. Ensures the accurate and seamless receipt and quality inspection of products, packaging materials and the timely processing of all incoming shipments.
Train associates in duties and policies
Resolve work related problems
Prepare requisition for materials, equipment and supplies
Prepare and submit reports
Establish work schedules and procedures
Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery
Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
Arrange for maintenance and repair work
Arrange training for staff
Co-ordinate, assign and review work
Perform Shipper/Receiver duties
Embraces and supports the Highline culture and values, acting as brand ambassador at all times
Interacts with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity
Develops and actively fosters an engaged work force, displaying professionalism even when challenging to do and while quickly managing the culture to stop behaviours not aligned to the Company Values.
Adheres to Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
Reports unsafe conditions immediately to Direct Report or member of the Safety team
Reports all incidents, injuries or near misses immediately to Direct Report or Safety Advocate
Cooperates in the Early & Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation
As reasonably requested in aid of Highline operations or culture compliance, perform any other duties that may be assigned
4 years shipping/receiving experience
2 years warehouse experience
2 years trucking dispatch experience
Able to work in a fast paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to work under pressure
Attention to details
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Forklift certification
5 to 6 days / week
Approximately 30 to 60 hours / week; 8 to 14 hours / day
Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled
Daily shift end times vary based on production needs
