Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing structural and non-structural repairs on vehicles, restoring them to pre-accident condition while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced collision repair environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform collision repairs including dent removal, panel repair, panel replacement, and refinishing.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
- Assess vehicle damage and develop repair plans in collaboration with estimators and management.
- Repair or replace damaged interior and exterior components, electrical parts, and vehicle accessories.
- Remove, install, and weld replacement panels and structural components as required.
- Perform structural repairs using frame and measuring equipment.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, priming, painting, and buffing to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other shop machinery safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure repair deadlines and production goals are achieved.
- Follow company procedures and quality control standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Continuously improve skills and stay current with industry repair techniques and technologies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Auto Body Technician, Collision Repair Technician, or similar role preferred.
- Dealership or collision repair center experience is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures, vehicle construction, and structural repair techniques.
- Experience using frame machines, measuring systems, welding equipment, and refinishing tools.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders, estimates, and OEM repair procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Minimum 3 years of Auto Body Technician experience
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG welding)
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Red Seal or 310B is preferred
- I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification)
Pay: $75,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
