Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team for an overnight shift. This role is primarily focused on the safe, accurate, and efficient verification and processing of prescriptions in a non-patient-facing environment.
The successful candidate will provide overnight clinical oversight for medication dispensing operations, including support for complex therapies such as Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) and Hepatitis C programs. Working independently, the pharmacist will ensure medication safety, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care while supporting pharmacy operations during overnight hours.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety.
- Provide clinical oversight of medication dispensing activities, including OAT, Hepatitis C therapies, and compliance packaging.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations and standards of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and pharmacy team members to resolve medication-related questions and concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of prescriptions, controlled substances, and pharmacy records.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous process improvement.
- Assist with inventory control, storage requirements, and medication handling procedures as required.
- Serve as the primary pharmacist responsible for overnight pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Previous experience in community, long-term care, specialty, or hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in an overnight environment.
- Experience with OAT, Hepatitis C therapy, complex medication regimens, or supportive housing programs is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
