Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth food service operations and upholding high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be detail-oriented, and eager to learn about food handling and kitchen procedures. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Support food service operations by maintaining a clean work area and ensuring supplies are stocked
- Help with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients under supervision
- Follow proper food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain a tidy kitchen environment
- Support the team during busy meal times by providing prompt assistance where needed
Skills
- Basic understanding of cooking, food preparation, and food safety practices
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food handling, meal prep, and kitchen operations
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks safely
