Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring smooth day-to-day bookkeeping operations. This position offers flexibility and an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization through precise data entry, account reconciliation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, proficiency with popular accounting software, and a proactive approach to managing financial tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain organized documentation of all financial activities, supporting audits and internal reviews as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within small to medium-sized organizations.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage300 or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience managing payroll processes and related compliance requirements is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial reporting practices is a plus.
Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently, within a cooperative team environment. A diploma in accounting would be beneficial, however a combination of work experience and post secondary education will be considered. New graduates are also encouraged to apply.
You will have demonstrated strong skills in accounting software (preferably Sage 300 experience), Excel and Microsoft suite. Most importantly, you will have a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
