Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. Duties
- Conduct training sessions with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques
- Develop customized training plans tailored to each dog's needs and owner’s goals
- Educate pet owners on proper training methods, behavior management, and care routines
- Monitor progress and adjust training strategies accordingly to ensure effective results
- Demonstrate commands, tricks, and behavioral modifications to clients during sessions
- Maintain a clean and safe training environment for both dogs and staff
- Assist with handling heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving training equipment or supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions and concerns professionally
- Assess potential service dog prospects
- Conduct CASDT testing
Experience
- Prior experience working with dogs or in a pet-related field is preferred but not required; relevant experience in customer service and mental health/disability awareness is valuable
- Strong understanding of canine behavior, training techniques, and positive reinforcement methods
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting when needed
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct pet owners and collaborate with team members
- Passion for animals and a genuine desire to improve their well-being through training

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
