West Edmonton Mall is looking for a certified Journeyperson Electrician or a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year apprentice eager to build their career in commercial electrical maintenance. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining, repairing, modifying, and refurbishing low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems, including transformers, 600V MCCs, motors, VFD control wiring, Wye/Delta starters, emergency power generators, transfer switches, grounding and bonding systems, and 5kV–13.8kV service distribution equipment.
- Assisting with the maintenance, repair, and monitoring of fire alarm systems, property lighting, security cameras, and network communication infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and performing repairs on electrical equipment throughout West Edmonton Mall, including tenant spaces as required.
- Installing conduit, cable, wireways, electrical enclosures, fittings, wiring devices, and performing circuit testing to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings while applying applicable electrical code requirements.
- Performing preventative maintenance and responding to electrical issues in a large, high-traffic commercial environment.
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail while following all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Supporting additional maintenance projects and scheduled shutdown work as required, including occasional night shifts.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certification or current 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year apprentice status in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
- Commercial electrical maintenance experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with fire alarm systems and/or network communication structured wiring is also considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., working at heights, and performing physically demanding work throughout the facility.

- Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Participation in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule is required.
- Starting hourly rate: $39.50 per hour (Journeyperson rate; apprentice compensation based on apprenticeship level and experience).
- Must pass a basic security clearance.
