Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Laser Programmer/Nesting specialist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, nesting, and optimizing laser cutting processes to ensure efficient production of high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, CAD design, and manufacturing operations, with the ability to operate and troubleshoot various machinery The Laser Programmer/Nesting will collaborate with production teams to meet quality standards and delivery deadlines while maintaining safety and precision in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize laser cutting programs using CAD software and CNC programming techniques.
- Perform nesting operations to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Set up and operate laser cutting equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safety protocols are followed.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Conduct quality control inspections using calipers, hand tools, and other measurement devices to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot machine issues related to Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or other automation systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and production runs for traceability.
- Assist with machine maintenance, changeovers, and minor repairs on CNC equipment such as CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, or press brake machines.
- Support warehouse operations including packaging finished products and organizing materials as needed.
- Collaborate with welding, assembly, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with CNC programming and nesting software.
- Strong knowledge of CAD design tools such as SolidWorks or similar software.
- Familiarity with manufacturing machinery including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, and welding equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes and equipment maintenance.
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency in using calipers, hand tools, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding material handling processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot automation systems like Fanuc PLCs.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in programming and production documentation.
