The Role
As Head of Sales, you'll own how Final goes to market and turn early momentum into a repeatable, scalable revenue engine. You'll build and lead the team, set the strategy, and carry the number , starting in Newfoundland & Labrador and laying the groundwork to expand well beyond the province.
This is a playercoach leadership role for someone who has built sales teams before, loves being close to merchants and deals, and is excited to define the playbook from the ground up at a fastgrowing SaaS company. You'll report directly to the founding team and have a seat at the table on company strategy.
What You'll Do
- Own the number. Set and deliver on revenue targets, quotas, and forecasts, with clear accountability for pipeline and growth.
- Build the team. Hire, onboard, coach, and develop a team of sales associates and reps, and build a culture of high performance and genuine care for merchants.
- Define the strategy. Shape Final's gotomarket approach: territories, segments, pricing, positioning, and the path from Newfoundland & Labrador to new markets.
- Build the playbook and process. Stand up the sales motion end to end , prospecting, discovery, demos, proposals, closing, and handoff to onboarding , and the CRM, tooling, and reporting that keep it disciplined.
- Stay close to merchants and deals. Lead from the front on strategic accounts, sit in on demos, and keep a direct read on how local businesses actually run.
- Partner across the company. Work hand in hand with Product, Support, and Marketing to feed back merchant insights, spot trends, and sharpen the overall gotomarket approach.
- Represent Final. Be a visible leader in the community , at business events, chambers, and industry meetups , building trust and brand presence across the province.
What You Bring
- Several years of sales experience, including a track record of leading and managing a sales team (SaaS, tech, payments, or POS is a big plus).
- Demonstrated success building or scaling a sales function , hiring reps, setting processes, and consistently hitting revenue targets.
- A playercoach mindset: comfortable setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to close deals and develop people.
- Strong consultative selling instincts , you ask great questions, listen closely, and recommend what's best for the merchant, and you teach your team to do the same.
- Fluency with pipeline management, forecasting, and CRMdriven reporting; you make decisions with data.
- Excellent communication , you can explain technology clearly without being "too techy," to merchants and to your team alike.
- Genuine passion for Newfoundland & Labrador's business community and a desire to help local merchants win.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across the province as needed.
Bonus Points
- Experience scaling a sales org from the early stages at a startup or highgrowth company.
- Background selling POS, payments, payroll, ecommerce, or other merchant tools.
- Existing relationships with local merchants, business networks, or community organizations.
- Comfort in a fastmoving environment where you help shape the playbook rather than inherit one.
- Experience running a small business, or working closely with owners and operators.
