Professor, Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging
Status: Full Time
Hours: Teaching is normally scheduled between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, Monday – Friday. In accordance with the Collective Agreement, workload may be up to 44 hours per week.

Rate of Pay: $77,153 - $133,752 per year
Start Rate: Upon hire, Human Resources will conduct a rate calculation based on completed education and work experience to determine the step within the range as per the Collective Agreement.

The Medical Imaging area located within the School of Health at Mohawk College requires a full-time professor to teach in the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging program. Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Medical Imaging, this professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership for our students by developing an effective and inclusive learning environment. Comprehensive knowledge, both experiential and didactic, specific to the current and evolving field of Nuclear Medicine is a requirement. Previous teaching, course design and accreditation involvement are assets.
What you’ll be doing:
The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

Teaching a variety of courses in the program.

Evaluating student progress and performing academic advising.

Developing and revising curriculum to align with national competency profile.
-
Enhancing educational delivery through the use of technology.
-
Participating in program quality assurance activities, including external program accreditation.

Participating in program, divisional and college-wide recruitment and marketing activities.
-
Create a positive learning environment in the classroom and laboratories.
-
Use a variety of teaching and learning strategies including online learning.
-
Use a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.
-
Collaborating with colleagues and teaching in interprofessional courses.
-
Collaborating with the community of practice to support the growth and development of Mohawk College’s educational deliveries related to nuclear medicine.
Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring to the role:
-
Completed formal education in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging that meets the Canadian NCP requirements.

Proof of current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) (or provincial equivalent) is required.

Active membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists or CANM.

At least five (5) years of diverse and current experience in Nuclear Medicine practice, multiple modalities is an asset.

Engagement in ongoing and relevant professional development and ability to demonstrate knowledge of current practice and technology in education and the profession.

Demonstrated experience with curriculum design and evaluation, and development of learning outcomes.

Teaching experience in a relevant post-secondary educational program is required.

Knowledge and skills to support the delivery of online pedagogy is an asset.

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of educational learning technologies and learning management systems is an asset.

Involvement in current or recent research is an asset.

Involvement with national accrediting bodies is an asset.

Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.

Ability to relate theoretical knowledge and practical applications through innovative delivery methods to provide a meaningful learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and ages.

Learner-centred approach and to assist in the development and application of alternate delivery methods.
