Cleaner Job Opportunity at Connect Charter School

This position requires an individual with experience in cleaner duties, a strong work ethic and the ability to be a positive team player. A clear police check with vulnerable sector check and an enthusiasm to work in a building that serves children is essential. Competent English language abilities are required.
Please note that this is a year round position. Shifts may vary depending on school days and professional development days. Generally speaking this is a full time position with the hours of work starting at 2:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Duties related to this position include:
- Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of school building, grounds, and furnishings
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust classrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, fixtures, and floors daily; restock supplies
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and furniture as needed
- Empty waste, recycling, and compost; remove to exterior bins
- Respond to spills, stains, and general cleaning needs as they arise
- Perform periodic deep cleaning and floor maintenance as scheduled
- Ensure building security (lock doors/windows, turn off unnecessary lights)
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damages
- Assist with furniture movement and perform other duties as assigned
- Primary contact when user groups are in the building after school hours
- Work respectfully in an environment with children and other staff
- Collaborate with a team to develop shared responsibilities to maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Abide by all safety protocols and complete Occupational, Health and Safety courses
- Other duties as assigned
The contract would begin as probationary (3 months) and pending a positive evaluation, an opportunity for a term contract may follow.
