The Hidden Gem Treat Shop is located in beautiful Cook Street village, a short distance from Downtown and only a few blocks from the Dallas Road beach front. We pride ourselves in making exceptional treats for all tastes and tummies, specializing in dairy-free baking and ice cream.
Building community has been a priority for us since we opened. We are blessed with many repeat customers, and enjoy partnering with other local small businesses when we can.
We are looking to hire on another integral part of our team in the front of house department. We’re looking for someone with previous barista experience in a fast-paced, high-volume café setting. While we always support learning and growth, this role requires a solid foundation in espresso preparation, customer service, and working efficiently under pressure.
Availability:
We are currently looking for someone with open availability on weekends. The ideal candidate has open availability on weekends and at least one available weekday (Monday and/or Tuesday preferred). Opening: This role would be 2-4 days a week: Mondays and/or Tuesdays, Saturday and Sunday.
Barista Job Description:
Making drinks, operating the till and point of sale, serving treats, and ice cream.
Cleaning, dishes, and other duties are associated with this role and are assigned by shift.
Learning how to use the espresso machine at a rapid rate without compromising quality or accuracy.
Upselling treats, knowing the menu inside and out so you can advise customers on dietary restrictions/allergies without checking.
In addition, the successful applicant is someone who genuinely likes people. Connection with our staff and guests is essential.
