Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable HVAC/R Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced technicians to assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers/freezers, rooftop units, heat pumps, split systems, and other HVAC/R equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed HVAC/R technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of HVAC/R equipment.
- Assist with the installation of new HVAC/R equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Safely use and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for the trade.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Accurately document work performed and assist with service reports as required.
- Work independently when appropriate while following the direction of licensed technicians.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers and project stakeholders.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job training and apprenticeship education.
Qualifications
- Registered HVAC/R Apprentice (all apprenticeship levels are encouraged to apply).
- Valid G Class driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- ODP Certification (required or willingness to obtain if eligible).
- G2 Gas Technician Licence is considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC/R systems, electrical components, and refrigeration principles is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals is considered an asset.
- Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting equipment and materials, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $20.00-$45.00 per hour
