Restaurant Manager — New Location Opening
850 Degrees Pizzeria | 2197 Bloor Street West, Toronto
$75,000+ total earnings ($60,000 salary + tip-out on serving shifts) | Full-time, 40 hours
Open a restaurant with us
850 Degrees is opening its second location on Bloor West this September, and we’re hiring the manager who will help open it. This is the rare chance to build a front-of-house team from day one — no inherited habits, no broken systems, just a new room, a proven concept, and an ownership group you’ll work with directly.
About 850 Degrees
We’re an independent, owner-operated stone-fired pizzeria. Our original Long Branch location has built a loyal neighbourhood following on quality food, a tight team, and genuine hospitality. Bloor West is location two, and we’re building a group — which means the people who open this restaurant are the people we’ll grow with.
The role
This is a hands-on hybrid role, and that’s deliberate: we believe the best floor managers are also the best servers in the room.
You’ll work five shifts a week. Three shifts you serve in section and take full tip-out. Two shifts you run the floor — leading the team, supporting service, and managing day-to-day operations. You get a management title and a salary floor without giving up section earnings.
Twelve months in, success looks like this: you’ve helped open the restaurant, hired and trained the opening FOH team, and you’re running shifts independently to a standard ownership doesn’t need to check.
What you’ll own
- Leading daily shifts: pace, energy, service standards, and guest recovery
- Serving in section three shifts per week with full tip-out
- Hiring, onboarding, and coaching the opening front-of-house team
- Driving sales through menu, wine, and feature knowledge — and teaching the team to do the same
- Managing costs, waste, and daily reporting
- Being the communication link between the floor, the kitchen, and ownership
Who this is for
You might be a senior server or supervisor ready for your first real management title. You might be a manager at a corporate spot who misses being on the floor — and misses the tips. Either way, you lead by example and you’re at your best mid-rush.

- 3+ years serving in a full-service, high-volume restaurant

- Italian food and wine knowledge
- Toast POS, scheduling, or restaurant reporting experience
- Prior opening experience
- Food Handler certification
Compensation and schedule
- $60,000 annual salary
- Tip-out on three serving shifts per week — projected at $15,000+ annually based on current location earnings
- 40 hours across five days
- Real growth path: as we add locations, GM and multi-unit roles will be filled from within
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
