Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator to join our team. This role involves operating a heavy-duty tow truck to assist with vehicle recoveries, rollover recoveries, roadside assistance, and transportation of vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent customer service skills, and experience in automotive repair. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with one of Alberta's largest towing operators. The idea candidate will focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
Duties
- Operate heavy-duty tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover disabled or damaged vehicles from various locations.
- Assist customers with roadside assistance services, including jump-starts, tire changes, and lockouts.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to towing equipment.
- Use specialized equipment such as forklifts, when necessary for loading or unloading vehicles.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including details of the vehicle, location, and service performed.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate services and provide excellent customer service.
- Keep the tow truck clean, well-maintained, and ready for operation at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience operating a heavy-duty tow trucks is required.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and towing equipment is required.
- Customer service experience is a plus, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication skills.
- Certification or experience with forklift operation is advantageous but not required.
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required for this role.
- Automotive repair skills will be considered an asset for troubleshooting mechanical issues efficiently.

Pay: $40,385.67-$98,380.15 per year
