Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors, managing front desk responsibilities with professionalism and courtesy
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using electronic medical records systems such as Telus CHR
- Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls, and handle patient inquiries effectively
- Verify patient insurance information and update medical records accurately
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth office operations
- Manage administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Ensure the office environment remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Telus CHR
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings
- Experience as a Medical receptionist or in a medical office environment is a plus
- Prior medical office experience preferred, demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy setting
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems confidently
- Office experience that includes administrative support and customer service excellence
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology and Ontario healthcare standards.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
