Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Foreman/Site Supervisor to join our operations team. In this role, you will directly supervise and coordinate field employees across municipal sewer, water, road, and site servicing construction projects, as well as commercial and industrial site servicing. You will lead and motivate your crew while taking ownership of site safety, scheduling, workforce planning, and cost control, ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.
Responsibilities:
Safety leadership — ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, and promote a proactive safety culture on the job site
Project oversight — plan and manage all aspects of construction activity on assigned projects
Crew management — supervise and direct your crew, providing clear instructions and guidance to ensure efficient, high-quality work
Quality control — monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
Scheduling — assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating with other trades and subcontractors to ensure timely completion
Cost control — track project costs and identify potential savings opportunities
Equipment management — oversee the proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools on site
Reporting — prepare daily reports on project progress, safety incidents, and any issues that arise
Communication — maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including management, project coordinators, and inspectors
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum five years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least one year of direct supervisory experience; three or more years of supervisory experience preferred
Working knowledge of water, sewer, and road construction and reconstruction, with familiarity in concrete placement, finishing, and asphalt placement considered an asset
Proven ability to lead and motivate crews, delegate effectively, and maintain a positive work environment
Strong scheduling, planning, and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with effective problem-solving and conflict resolution ability
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications
Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record
Commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of relevant regulations
Physical ability to perform demanding work on a construction site, including working an average of ten hours per day, five days per week, and occasionally six
Compensation & Benefits:
$46.00 to $52.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and applicable employment arrangement
