Summary
Our company is growing and we need an Accountant to help the Controller with the full cycle accounting processes, the monthend close, and providing analytical review. This is a new position and would be a great opportunity for a part-qualified CPA student or equivalent accounting professional.
What you'll do
- Oversee the cash, AR and AP processes
- Manage the bi-weekly payroll process
- Oversee the monthend close and prepare financial statements
- Prepare routine sales reporting and special analysis
- Support the Accounting Assistant and Controller as needed
- Collaborate with team members to develop financial knowledge and best practices
- Continuously evaluate financial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Who we're looking for
Education
- Part qualified CPA or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum three years full-time experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
- Supervisory experience would be an asset
Skills & Attributes
- Strong accounting skills and good working knowledge of ASPE
- Excellent analytical skills and management reporting experience
- Tech savvy with Excel skills that include pivot tables and macros
- Highly organized, accurate and detail-orientated
- Self-motivated and disciplined, with the ability to manage routine and complex tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
