Job Overview:
The Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics Innovation will be responsible for translating consumer, customer, category, and market learning into clear, actionable insight that guides High Liner Foods’ innovation agenda. Leveraging hindsight, insight, and foresight, the Manager will identify emerging trends, unmet needs, whitespace opportunities, and portfolio implications that support consumer-relevant innovation across Retail and Foodservice channels.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Lead insights and analytics support for innovation strategy, pipeline development, concept evaluation, and commercialization decisions across Retail and Foodservice.
- Design and execute consumer learning plans for innovation projects, managing the full research lifecycle from methodology, questionnaire design, and testing through analysis, synthesis, and reporting.
- Provide expert guidance on qualitative, quantitative, emerging research approaches, including the evolving use of AI-enabled tools and analytics.
- Translate consumer, shopper, operator, customer, category, and market trends into clear opportunity areas, innovation territories, and actionable business recommendations.
- Support the end-to-end innovation process, including idea generation, opportunity sizing, concept screening, product testing, consumer validation, commercialization learning, and post-launch evaluation.
- Partner with Marketing, Innovation, R&D, Sales, Finance, external research partners, and other collaborators to ensure recommendations are consumer-relevant, commercially viable, and aligned to business priorities.
- Develop compelling dashboards, reports, presentations, concept testing summaries, and learning agendas that simplify complex data into concise, fact-based stories for cross-functional and leadership decision-making.
- Own and manage insights tools, research vendors, data sources, project budgets, timelines, and best-practice sharing to build organizational understanding of consumer and customer needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research, Analytics, Innovation, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in insights, analytics, market research, innovation, category management, or a related commercial function.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize syndicated, market, shopper, consumer, and customer data
- Experience supporting consumer-led innovation processes, including opportunity identification, concept development, product testing, and commercialization learning
- Experience in storytelling and drawing consumer, customer, and category insights from data and research
- Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Ability to translate complex research and data into concise storytelling, business implications, and action-oriented recommendations
- Experience presenting to leadership teams and managing external vendors or research partners.
- Strong full cycle project management skills, coupled with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability and willingness to travel (10 to 20%).
Salary Transparency: High Liner Foods’ compensation offerings are founded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $112,000 - $125,000; the base pay is offered based on a variety of factors including geographical market location, and may vary depending on job grading practices, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity factors. As part of our total rewards offering, employees may be eligible to participate in an annual short-term incentive program [and long-term incentive program] (for Dir+) subject to program eligibility requirements.
