Overview
At Veritas Tutoring Academy, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Math Tutor/tuteur(rice) de mathématiques to support students in developing their mathematical skills. This role involves working closely with learners of various ages and backgrounds to foster understanding, confidence, and academic success in mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong math skills, and experience working with children or students requiring additional educational support outside the classroom. Duties
- Provide personalized or group tutoring sessions for students of all ages in mathematics, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and other related topics.
- Assess student's current understanding and tailor lessons to meet their individual learning needs.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate effective learning.
- Support students in improving problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning.
- Utilize computer skills to incorporate educational software or online resources into tutoring sessions.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians as needed.
- Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence and motivation.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, or other educational professionals to support student success.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics at various levels is preferred.
- Classroom experience or familiarity with instructional techniques enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Knowledge of special education strategies is a plus for supporting diverse learning needs.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with educational software or online learning platforms, are beneficial.
- Background in math, teaching, computer science, or related fields will support effective instruction and resource development.
