About the Role We're looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC turning centers producing precision aluminum components. You'll work with aircraft-grade materials to tight tolerances in a quality-driven ISO 9001:2015 environment.
What You'll Do
· Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers (2-3 axis)
· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
· Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments
· Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and toolpaths for aluminum machining
· Edit and optimize CNC programs at the machine as needed
· Monitor tool wear and replace inserts/tooling to maintain part quality
· Maintain tight tolerances on precision components
· Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
· Document production data and quality records per ISO 9001:2015 requirements
· Collaborate with quality and engineering teams on process improvements
What You Bring
· 3+ years of CNC lathe/turning center experience
· Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T
· Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMM experience an asset)
· Working knowledge of G-code; ability to edit programs at the control
· Experience machining aluminum is a strong asset
· Strng attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Trade certification (Red Seal Machinist) or equivalent experience preferred
· Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls

Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe and milling machines in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in CNC programming using Fanuc or Mazatrol control systems
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
- Experience with machining tools including calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
