What you will be doing in the role of Project Engineering (Nuclear):
The Project Engineering position is responsible for working with customers and reviewing customer documentation such as P&IDs and process descriptions to define control system hardware & software requirements; design and document control system hardware, control network, and fieldbus networks; program and test control strategies and HMI graphics; start-up and commissioning on-site; post-start-up support for customers. Must be able to independently perform these tasks for small projects and provide technical direction and leadership to a project team for larger projects.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Act as main point of contact (“Owner”) for customers, Emerson and within the Nuclear Team for assigned orders and projects
- Fulfill Owner duties for assigned orders/projects by ensuring all elements of the order cycle are progressed to meet on-time delivery and that IFS Promise Delivery Date is kept current
- Prepare and maintain order/project status reports in conjunction with team members
- Prepare and maintain order/project schedules by collecting frequent data from multiple stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation tracking lists and ensure all customer comments to documents are addressed in a manner to ensure on-time delivery is met
- Oversee all communication among stakeholders to support on-time delivery
- Support the delivery of accrual information to customers and delivery of progress and final invoices
- Prepare documentation packages (where necessary) for assigned projects/orders and work with Lakeside Compliance/QA towards an approved documentation package
- Create and process change order non-technical in nature to facilitate PO updates and/or necessary changes within IFS under a limited signing authority program and training through Compliance/QA
- Maintain high level understanding of Lakeside products, services and solutions
- Lead and maintain regular cadence calls with assigned Vendor or Emerson Business Units
- Support site visits and initiatives with assigned Vendors or Emerson Business Units to improve business relationship
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
- Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
- 1-4 years experience in an Engineering related role
- Knowledge of Nuclear Quality Management Systems and Nuclear Codes/Standards are an asset
- Knowledge of ANSI, ASME, ASTM, CSA standards are an asset
- Exposure to the process industry including Chemical and Specialty Chemical, Pulp and Paper, Refining, Power, Cogeneration (Power & Steam production), Pharma and Biotech, and Food and Beverage
- Project Management skills
- Knowledge of process control and instrumentation
- Strong oral and written skills
- Good communication skills are a requirement
