Dispatcher – Heavy Haul / Lowbed Transport
We are currently seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trucking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatching of trucks and drivers
- Prepare and submit permit applications for overweight, overheight, and extraordinary loads
- Complete and manage border crossing documentation for cross-border shipments
- Monitor routing to ensure compliance with Lower Mainland truck routes
- Ensure compliance with CVSE regulations and transport requirements
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal staff regarding schedules, routing, and load details
- Operate and manage a multi-line phone system
- Resolve operational issues and adjust dispatch schedules as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Knowledge of Lower Mainland truck routing
- Understanding of CVSE regulations
- Experience in the lowbed / heavy haul industry
- Familiarity with construction and paving equipment
- Experience preparing oversize / overweight permits
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment while maintaining accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years dispatch experience in the transportation industry preferred
