Job Summary:
The Commercial Litho Press Feeder is responsible for setting up and feeding paper stock into commercial lithographic printing presses, assisting the press operator during production, and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Load and feed paper, board, or other substrates into lithographic printing presses.
* Verify paper stock against job tickets, ensuring the correct size, weight, finish, and quantity are used.
* Assist the press operator with press setup, make-ready, wash-ups, and job changeovers.
* Monitor feeder operation to prevent paper jams, misfeeds, and downtime.
* Inspect printed sheets for registration, color consistency, print quality, and defects, reporting any issues promptly.
* Maintain an adequate supply of paper, ink, coatings, and other production materials.
* Remove waste, stack finished sheets and prepare materials for the next production stage.
* Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on feeder equipment.
* Complete production records and accurately report material usage and downtime.
* Follow production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
* Maintain a clean, organized work area using good housekeeping practices.
* Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Previous experience in commercial printing, manufacturing, or a related production environment is an asset.
* Knowledge of lithographic printing processes is preferred.
* Ability to read and understand job tickets and production instructions.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
* Ability to lift and handle paper stock and materials (up to 50 lbs/23 kg).
* Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity.
* Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, or weekends when production demands require.
Work Environment
* Commercial printing or packaging production facility.
* Exposure to moving machinery, inks, solvents, and production noise.
* Requires adherence to strict safety procedures and quality standards.
This position serves as a key support role to the press operator, helping maximize press uptime, maintain high-quality print output, minimize waste, and ensure customer orders are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
