ABOUT BMCE
Burns Maendel Consulting Engineers Ltd. (BMCE) provides civil, municipal, and structural engineering services throughout Manitoba and to parts of Saskatchewan. Based in the second largest city in Manitoba, BMCE has grown to over twenty-five employees since its inception 18 years ago.
THE ROLE
We are looking to enhance and develop our Civil team with a driven, enthusiastic individual keen to grow roots in our expanding business. As a contributing member of our Civil Engineering team, you will enjoy a fast-paced, friendly environment that is collaborative and energized to deliver design solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. Self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work within time constraints are essential to this role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
PROJECT EXPOSURE
- Stormwater and wastewater management
- Domestic lagoons
- Subdivision design
- Drainage and grading planning (calculation and design)
- Sewer and water servicing design and replacement
- Hutterite Colony development
- Land development
- Road development (rural roads –commercial highway)
- Multi or single-family dwelling site design
FIELD & CONSTRUCTION
- On-site construction administration, inspections, and quality assurance
- Site inspection with Lidar drones
- Coordinating external services with sub-contractors
CLIENT & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Establish and maintain long-term personal relationships with contractors, developers, municipal and provincial agencies
- Build knowledge across a multidisciplinary range of project types.
- Develop the practical and professional skills needed to grow within the team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Class 5 license
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited Canadian university
- Registered or eligible for registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM)
DESIRED SKILLS
- 0–3 years of experience in Municipal/Civil Engineering
- Strong teamwork skills as well as the ability to work alone
- Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Beneficial experience includes proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of municipal approvals and regulations processes
- Practice comprehending information from engineering drawings

SALARY RANGE | $60,000 – $75,000
Based on a 40-hour work week and the applicant’s experience and qualifications. Range may be adjusted for candidates outside the expected skillset.
