Job description:
Civil North Consulting Ltd. has an opening on our Civil Superintendent position. The Civil Superintendent will lead an effective construction team that successfully completes projects according to approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, budgets, and schedule while maintaining high quality and a safe workplace. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary on-site representative for the company, managing interactions with clients, the public, crews, and subcontractors
- Manage all aspects of the project including, roadworks, utility installation, and various subcontractors.
- Read, Understand & Interpret Drawings & As-builts, MMCD, MOTT specifications and typical civil testing requirements.
- Coordinating with project managers and client inspectors.
- Plan, schedule, and allocate resources to ensure the project stays on track and within scope.
- Assist in the purchase of necessary equipment, rigging and tools, as necessary.
- Work effectively with digital tools, including PDFs, spreadsheets, SharePoint, etc.
- Daily site paperwork, timesheets, etc.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in the civil construction industry, managing sites and projects aligned with our project portfolio.
- Expert understanding of construction industry and business operations, including cost management processes and reports, construction specifications and methods, contract language, and project planning and schedules.
- Excellent knowledge of safety standards and quality control procedures within the construction industry.
- Friendly, professional, well-presented, and clear communicator.
- Able to handle pressure and coordination of several tasks at once.
- Problem solver.
- A valid Driver's License is required for this position.
- Willing to work out of town on shift work.
The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
