Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a food manufacturing facility in Richmond Hill, ON.
This is a full-time day-shift opportunity for a mechanically skilled maintenance professional with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and packaging equipment. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, complete mechanical repairs, and support continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced food production environment.
Pay: $37.08 per hour
Location: Richmond Hill, ON
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and diagnose production equipment failures and breakdowns.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on high-speed packaging equipment.
- Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical and electrical components.
- Maintain and repair production equipment including pumps, pasteurizers, valves, piping, and related systems.
- Perform maintenance on support equipment including boilers, air compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps, and water meters.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance including lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, and inspections.
- Perform mechanical equipment setup and changeovers.
- Help minimize production downtime through effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Participate in maintenance improvement projects.
- Communicate maintenance work and equipment issues with production and maintenance team members.
- Follow all plant health and safety procedures and use required PPE.
What We're Looking For
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-year Mechanical or Electrical Technology Diploma/Certificate, or relevant trade/apprenticeship training.
- Red Seal Millwright or Electrician certification is an asset; candidates who are partway through an apprenticeship may also be considered.
- 2 to 3 years of maintenance experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical production or packaging equipment.
- Experience with mechanical equipment setup.
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace and product safety.
