Job Posting for Registered Early Childhood Educator - RECE
The HUB Child & Family Centre (The HUB) has served the children and families of Prince Edward County since 1989. We are dedicated to providing quality licensed child care and early learning through programs and services that focus on children infant to 13 years old.
As a Registered Early Childhood Educator you will report to Program Managers in our licensed child care programs. The role will be a position within The HUB and could require travel to various program locations throughout Prince Edward County. Mileage will be compensated when travel between programs is necessary. We have program locations at five schools within Prince Edward County and three licensed child care centre locations.
The Registered Early Childhood Educator will report to the Child Care Program Manager. You will plan, organize, and initiate activities to help children develop and learn intellectually, physically, and emotionally in a manner consistent with the philosophy, goals and mission of The HUB.
We offer an excellent benefit package and optional RRSP matching program for full/part-time staff after a successful 3-month probation period.
Hours of Work: Full Time
Wage: Starting at $23.86 per hour + $2.00 Wage Enhancement Grant (WEG) per hour
Educational Requirements:
Two year College diploma in the field of Early Childhood Education, the successful candidate must maintain a current membership in good standing with the College of ECE.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- You will plan, organize, and initiate activities to help children develop and learn intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally within our licensed child care centres.
- Implement programming aligned with “How Does Learning Happen?” documentation.
- Communicate and build relationships with children, their families and other partner professionals.
- Work collaboratively with other ECEs and Child Care Assistants.
Requirements:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the College of ECE.
- Good working knowledge of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA).
- Experience with program planning, pedagogical documentation and evaluation.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check within the last six months.
- Up-to-date immunizations as required by Southeast Public Health.
- Up-to-date First Aid/CPR-C certification.
- Must be dependable, flexible, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Reliable transportation, valid Ontario Driver’s license and reliable vehicle an asset to travel between program locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve outcomes.
- Must be reliable, flexible, and effectively work in a team environment
- Performing physical activity including but not limited to bending, kneeling, twisting, running and standing for long periods.
