Job Summary
We are seeking experienced, skilled Cabinet Makers to join our team! This is not a carpenter position. The ideal candidates have a strong background in commercial millwork, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment. You will be responsible for constructing and repairing custom cabinets and woodwork, ensuring precision and high-quality craftsmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of woodworking techniques, blueprint reading, cut lists, basic industry math and the use of various hand and power tools. The Cabinet Makers will collaborate with project managers to deliver functional and aesthetically pleasing cabinetry solutions for commercial, institutional and / or residential projects.
Duties
- Build and assemble commercial grade and residential cabinets, millwork and custom components from shop drawings
- Cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood components using hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment
- Rework existing cabinetry or wood structures as needed
- Installation of drawer slides, hinges and other hardware as required
- Use of various materials including veneers, MDF, melamine, plastic laminates, solid surfaces, solid woods, etc.
- Ensure accuracy, quality and consistency in all finished products
- Measure accurately for custom fitting of cabinets and related woodwork
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency during manufacturing and installation processes
- Follow safety protocols as per our company policies
Experience
- 2 plus years proven experience in custom cabinetry / woodworking
- Reading, understanding and interpreting drawings, blueprints, cut lists and material lists is essential
- Hands-on experience with and safe set-up of hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment is required
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow direction
- Daily use of industry math
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment
- Forklift experience is an asset
