About the Job:
St. Francis Xavier Parish in Stoney Creek is seeking a part-time Housekeeper from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (approx. 24 hours/week). Reporting to the Parish Priest, this position offers a competitive rate of pay, health and dental benefits, and a pension plan, and requires a commitment to working the outlined hours, with some flexibility when needed to prepare occasional additional meals (e.g., for special events or guests).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare dinner (three meals/week) for Parish Priest, including vegetarian options
- Perform grocery shopping
- Wash and dry dishes
- Clean rectory areas, including hallways and rooms
- Perform seasonal and deep cleaning tasks
- Perform laundry for priests and seminarian (including bedsheets and albs)
- Wash alter linens
- Prepare and maintain the guestroom as needed
Requirements:
- Education: high school or equivalent
- Well develop culinary skills; ability to prepare regular meals with a vegetarian option
- Well developed cleaning skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
The successful candidate will be required to obtain the Ontario Food Handler Certificate (reimbursed by The Diocese) or provide proof of current certification.
