Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently on various construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Equipment Operator will play a vital part in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Prior supervising experience and familiarity with construction management software are highly desirable to support project coordination and oversight.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute tasks accurately
- Assist in site preparation, material handling, and logistical coordination
- Monitor work progress, quality control measures, and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and team members to meet project deadlines
- Support budgeting activities by tracking equipment usage and related costs
- Supervise junior operators or laborers as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Skills
- Proficiency in construction management software such as Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or ProCore
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating
- Experience supervising construction crews or projects is preferred
- Excellent understanding of quality control procedures within construction environments
- Ability to manage budgets related to equipment operation and site logistics
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction sites
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to operate various types of construction equipment safely and efficiently
AZ / ARZ or DZ licence preferred
