Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician (Assistant) to support our client's manufacturing facility’s maintenance operations. This role involves assisting in the repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, electrical knowledge, and experience with manufacturing systems. Responsibilities
- Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure
- Support troubleshooting using schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Operate and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order management and documentation
- Conduct welding repairs and basic fabrication as needed
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards during all maintenance activities
- Support equipment changeovers, calibrations, and inspections
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance procedures and operational efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service to internal teams by addressing maintenance needs promptly
Experience
- 3 or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, machine troubleshooting manufacturing environments, or related technical roles is preferred
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical systems is highly desirable
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting is advantageous
- Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and reading technical diagrams or schematics
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and facilities maintenance best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English are required to effectively document work orders and collaborate with team members
- Experience in leadership roles or supervising teams is beneficial but not mandatory
