Our Recreation Department is looking for a dedicated Pool Operator I to join the team.
Position Responsibilities
- Pool Operators independently maintain water quality and ensure the safe, efficient operation of aquatic mechanical and filtration systems.

Conducting routine water testing and chemical balancing in accordance with provincial health regulations

Monitor automated and manual systems, and maintaining accurate operational logs and documentation.

Manual chemical dosing, responding to water quality incidents and contaminations, managing chemical inventory, and ensuring all processes align with public health and safety standards.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on aquatic systems and equipment within assigned area.

Monitor facility conditions, ensuring all aquatic environments (pools, splash pads, wave features, and related amenities) are safe, clean, and fully operational, and troubleshooting system issues while escalating as required.
Qualifications
- Pool Operations 1 Certification

18 years of age

First Aid/CPR

Fire Extinguisher training

Experience in maintaining a public swimming pool

Hours
The standard workweek consists of an average of 20-25 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
Compensation
Starting salary $36.43 per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
