These values still form the foundation of our company today. BDA Inc. has grown from its humble beginnings to a staff of over 70. We are currently looking for an Assistant Construction Site Superintendent to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area, On.
Responsibilities
To assist Site Superintendent to ensure the overall success of assigned projects including:
- Follow instructions as per Site Superintendent and/or Project Managers.
- Work with Site Superintendent to act as BDA’s representative on site. Supervising, scheduling and coordinating workers, subcontractors, suppliers and equipment as required to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget.
- Complete thorough contract reviews. Ensure all required project start-up documents are received and accepted.
- Assist Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure work is done according to plans and specifications.
- Assist Site Superintendent to resolve job site issues or recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Work with Site Superintendent to inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
- Communicate with project managers regarding lead times for material/equipment delivery.
- Provide site orientation for workers and visitors.
- Ensure that BDA Health and Safety Policies and Procedure are practiced and safety guidelines and regulation are followed on the construction site.
- Abide by the Ontario Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Construction Projects.
- · Maintain weekly safety talks and site safety checklists.
- Implement health and safety measures, and ensure all workers follow these protocols.
- Maintain site security.
- Ensure work is done in compliance with all IHSA Regulations and all applicable health & safety policies and procedures.
- Thorough compliance with IHSA and COR.
- Obtain police background check/clearance as required.
- Coordinate daily site clean-up.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site by conducting regular inspections.
- Assist Site Superintendent to supervise BDA laborers on site.
- Inform BDA HQ of any weekend and/or holiday work prior to schedule.
- Complete daily log reports.
- Ensure all subcontractor induction forms are current and filed on site.
- Communicate and assist project teams to prepare RFIs and track RFIs, RFCs, PCOs, COs, Site Instructions and directions.
- Attend Project Monthly Review meetings and Site Meetings. Provide two-week look ahead schedule for the meetings.
- Keep all paperwork and submittals up to date and available.
- Assist Site Superintendent to arrange and coordinate all testing and inspections by 3rd party inspection agents and keep all reports and address all deficiencies and issues.
- Assist Site Superintendent to arrange and coordinate all inspections by governing authorities. Address all issues and concerns raised by the inspectors to ensure final inspections are passed and building permits are closed upon completion of projects.
- Provide deficiency reports and address all deficiencies with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Record and maintain project as-built drawings on site and submit to project managers at project completion phase.
Business Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or College degree in Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of construction experience preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans.
- Strong multi-tasking ability.
- Detail Oriented.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel.
