Conestoga Contracting Group is looking for an experienced AZ Truck Driver and Operator. This role is for someone who takes pride in safe driving, clean equipment, reliable delivery, and helping jobs stay productive. You’ll be responsible for transporting materials, operating a variety of trucks and equipment, completing inspections and logs, and stepping in to support crews when needed.

*Please note you must have 3 years of provable experience driving the truck for insurance purposes*
About the Role
The Truck Driver and Operator is responsible for driving and operating a variety of trucks and equipment in support of residential and commercial landscape construction projects.
This may include:
- Straight trucks
- Articulated trucks
- Tractor trailers
- Flatbeds
- Concrete mixing trucks
- Dump trucks
Driving responsibilities may include:
- Short-haul
- Long-haul
- Local routes
- Regional routes
You will transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from jobsites, help maintain vehicle readiness, and support general labour tasks as needed to help projects move forward.

Key ResponsibilitiesDriving and Transport
- Drive and operate a variety of trucks and equipment to support landscape construction projects
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from jobsites
- Complete local, regional, short-haul, or long-haul driving as required
- Plan routes and travel schedules using GPS, maps, and job information
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
Equipment and Vehicle Readiness
- Carry out daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles
- Secure special attachments to equipment as needed
- Monitor the condition and operating status of trucks and equipment
- Report service needs, maintenance concerns, damage, or hazards promptly using service requests and hazard reports
- Keep vehicles clean, organized, and ready for work
Safety and Compliance
- Use proper tie-down procedures to ensure all loads are safe and secure
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety expectations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Operate safely around heavy equipment, vehicles, crews, and active jobsites
Documentation and Communication
- Complete driver logbooks daily and submit logs at the end of each week
- Maintain accurate documentation including:
- Driver logbooks
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports
- Maintenance and repair reports
- Trip reports
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, crews, and team members about timing, issues, and equipment status
Team Support
- Assist with general labour duties when needed to support the completion of landscape projects
- Work independently when required and contribute as a strong team member on active jobs

Requirements
- Valid AZ or ARZ driver’s licence
- Air brake endorsement where required
- Clean driver’s abstract and safe driving record
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Knowledge of driver logbooks, trip reports, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintenance documentation
- Physically fit with strong stamina
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a full shift
- Basic measurement and calculation skills
- Ability to follow safe work procedures consistently
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Computer skills are an asset
Work Conditions
This role works across a variety of residential and commercial landscape construction sites.
You should be comfortable with:
- Flexible working hours (7am-6:00pm Monday to Friday)
- Fast-paced workdays
- Repetitive lifting and physical work
- Working safely near heavy equipment and moving vehicles
- Outdoor conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
