Position Overview
The Integrity Group of Companies consists of six different business units, with the primary areas of focus including the construction of post frame buildings across Western Canada, supplying framing material packages to homebuilders in Calgary and area, as well as manufacturing.
The responsibilities of the Metal Processor are to operate various machines in a factory environment which transforms sheet steel into panels and trims.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Use automated and semi-automated equipment to cut and form sheet steel into building panels and trims
- Program machine controls to order requirements
- Stack and package for transport
- Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure Integrity’s standards are met
- Use forklift to transport steel coils between warehouse and equipment and finished product between warehouse and yard
- Maintain equipment and tools and report on malfunctions
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including floors and equipment
- Adhere to health & safety policies
- Report accidents, near misses, injuries, and illnesses
Skills/Qualifications
- Experience with metal processing is preferred but not required
- Ability to read tape measure and accurately enter data
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills asset
- Self-starter with the ability to work cooperatively, independently, and be willing to assist others
- Great attention to detail, diligent and punctual
- Good physical strength and stamina
Technology & Equipment
- Operate hand tools such as saws, framing nailers, measuring tape etc.
- Forklift experience an asset
