Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Baker/Cafe Manager to lead our bakery and café operations. This role involves overseeing daily baking activities, managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, particularly in baking, along with excellent leadership and organizational abilities. Responsibilities
- Lead the bakery team in preparing a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, bread, and other confections.
- Oversee food preparation processes ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
- Manage daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, taking orders, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Coordinate packaging of baked goods for retail or catering orders efficiently and attractively.
- Train and supervise staff to uphold operational standards and foster a positive work environment.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in baking, with specialization in cake decorating preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within the food industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in restaurant or café management is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Organizational skills for inventory control, scheduling, and operational planning.
