Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Local Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and goods within local routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight and goods within designated local routes
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Ensure all freight is secured properly before transit to prevent damage during transportation
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Assist with warehouse duties such as freight handling, inventory checks, and equipment operation when required
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating heavy equipment, forklifts, and commercial trucks preferred
- Knowledge of freight handling, securing loads, and automotive repair basics is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and dispatchers
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
