Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing environments, with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Candidates should possess excellent analysis skills, a solid understanding of schematics, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills in English and customer service orientation are essential for effective collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Repair or replace faulty components, including motors, belts, pumps, valves, and wiring
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems for diagnostics and repairs
- Operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management
- Conduct welding, HVAC repairs, boiler maintenance, and other specialized tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in industrial maintenance procedures
- Electrical experience with a focus on low voltage systems and industrial electrician skills
- Familiarity with schematics, CMMS software, PLC programming, HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and HVAC systems
- Ability to analyze complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to industrial maintenance operations
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective reporting and teamwork
- Customer service skills for interacting with internal departments or external clients when necessary
