Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including excavators, to perform various excavation and site preparation tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate multiple types of machinery safely and efficiently. The Excavator Operator will play a vital role in ensuring project deadlines are met while maintaining safety standards on-site.
Duties
- Operate mini excavators and bobcats to excavate for additions, backfill, grading, and site development tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist with site clearing, trenching, digging, lifting, and material handling operations.
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute construction plans effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction site procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery such as bobcat/skidsteer
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of construction processes, including excavation, backfilling, grading, and site preparation.
- Ability to operate multiple types of heavy machinery safely in a dynamic construction environment.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation on construction sites.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary.
