The Opportunity
Accountable for ensuring that all parts requests are handled in a timely and effective manner; supervises parts representatives and shipping/receiving staff to maximize productivity and efficiency in order to meet targets and customer requirements.
The Role
- Provide day-to-day operational support for parts sales activities.
- Execute initiatives that support long-term operational excellence and improve efficiency, including warranty programs and branch parts operations.
- Supervise parts representatives to ensure sourcing efficiency, profitability, and high levels of customer service.
- Provide coaching and training to parts representatives to support performance and development.
- Collaborate with customers, and suppliers, to fulfill parts orders and respond to inquiries within cost and service expectations.
- Be an integral part of internal leadership teams to work on large service related projects to ensure cost control, timelines and safety of personnel.
The Candidate
Education: Minimum Highschool education with preference to post-secondary education in a technical or mechanical field.
Work Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience. Experience in the marine, industrial, heavy truck, or mobile equipment parts industry. Brand experience such as Volvo Penta, MTU, Detroit Diesel and Allison are not necessary but considered an asset.
Knowledge: Experience working with parts vendors, outsourcing, as well as preparing parts quotations and invoicing.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems and vendor portals
