Job Description
The Hospitality team is all about providing excellent customer service so everyone - guests, staff, and visitors - feels taken care of. Staff provide top-notch service and keep things running smoothly by spotting the little details, jumping in when needed, and creating a clean and welcoming environment.
Kitchen Service staff are in charge of setting up and managing the hot and cold buffets, juice machines, and coffee stations in each dining area. They also are responsible for washing dishes and keeping the dining room tidy and customer ready. That means sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, taking out the trash, wiping down surfaces and sanitizing food prep areas. Don’t worry—aprons are provided for your shifts!
Shifts can vary throughout the week, so flexibility is key: Breakfast/Lunch (6:00am – 2:30pm), Lunch/Dinner (11:00am – 7:30pm), or Breakfast/Dinner (6:00am – 10:30am & 4:00pm – 7:30pm).
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.
Skills and Attributes Required
Muskoka Woods is looking for staff whose personal values match the MW Core Values which includes having a passion for working with children and youth.
Kitchen staff must have a strong work ethic, have a customer service mindset, be a team player, have a positive attitude, be willing to work early morning shifts, and perform manual labour (unloading inventory, cleaning, mopping). Experience working in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not required.
Salary Range
$125 – $155 per week plus room and board
Full Summer Bonus
Each hospitality employee who commits their entire summer will qualify for a $300 bonus to be given at the end of the summer. Exceptions will apply for high school students & first year post-secondary school for Staff Week & Classic.
Contract Dates
June 19 - September 4, 2026
Essential Functions
Have the physical strength and ability to lift and move small and large objects (ie. vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, boxes, and inventory)
Work efficiently for 7-9 hours at a time
Participate in work projects that involve lifting and carrying 10-30 lbs
Be able to stoop, bend, and crouch
Communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and guests
Additional Notes
All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
All staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
