Responsibilities
Assist attorney with preparing legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
Conduct thorough research using tools such as LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
Manage and organize case files using document management systems to ensure easy retrieval and compliance.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of case activities, deadlines, and client information.
Proofread and review legal documents for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to formatting standards.
Coordinate interviews with clients, witnesses, or experts as needed for case preparation.
Support project management tasks by tracking deadlines, scheduling meetings, and maintaining filing systems.
Skills
Exceptional proofreading and editing skills to ensure error-free legal documents.
Proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and familiarity with document management software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent research capabilities combined with effective writing skills for drafting memos and summaries.
Experience in administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and managing correspondence.
Knowledge of legal procedures and drafting techniques for contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents.
Professional phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Paralegal
- Completion of a Paralegal or Legal Assistant certificate or diploma
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
- High attention to detail and organizational skill
