We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Process payroll and ensure timely statutory remittances (if applicable).
- Prepare and file tax returns, HST/GST, and other regulatory filings.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
