We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting products, performing quality measurements, maintaining accurate records, and generating reports to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards. Positions are available on the day and afternoon shift.
This position is classified in the position of Lead Hand, General Labor as in accordance with our Collective Barganing Agreement.
Day Shift: Monday - Firday 7:00am - 3:15pm
Afternoon Shift: Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 11:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Measure product dimensions using measuring tapes, calipers, rulers, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Verify products meet specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.
- Enter quality data into computer systems and maintain electronic records.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports using Microsoft Excel and company software.
- Identify non-conforming products and communicate quality concerns to supervisors and production staff.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor production trends and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
- Maintain calibration records for measuring equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in quality audits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing or quality control experience is considered an asset.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience using manufacturing or ERP software is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Perform repetitive measuring and inspection tasks.
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment.
