Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have solid mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive repair, and proficiency with various tools and schematics. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics to identify issues accurately
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various makes and models, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for repairs and assembly tasks
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex problems
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Assist with vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service orders
- Uphold safety standards by adhering to proper procedures for heavy lifting and the use of maintenance equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance recommendations clearly
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic; dealership experience is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) when necessary
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and assembly processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
