Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership repairs, heavy machinery, and electrical systems is highly valued to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to disassemble and reassemble components
- Troubleshoot electrical systems related to automotive and heavy equipment
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service history
- Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Assist with the installation of new equipment or systems such as HVAC units or specialized machinery
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and industry regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly to clients or team members
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment; dealership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial repair, electrical systems, schematics, and industrial machinery operation
- Proficiency with welding, power tools, hand tools, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Experience working with heavy equipment or other industrial equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety compliance
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment
