Position: Team Lead – Live-In Program
Reports To: Manager of Care and Intake
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 35 hours per week
Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-10:30pm Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
Wage: $51,000 annual salary- 2 weeks of paid vacation
Location: Based out of the live in home- Located in York Region

Position Summary
The Team Lead supports the daily operations of the Live-In Program while working directly alongside participants and care staff to provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, participant-centered care within a structured residential setting for individuals impacted by human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
This is a working leadership role that combines direct participant care responsibilities with day-to-day team support and guidance. The Team Lead provides mentorship and assistance to Care Staff, promotes consistency in service delivery, and serves as a resource during shifts while also independently providing care and support within the home. This position does not include formal management or supervisory responsibilities.
The Team Lead works collaboratively with management, clinicians, program staff, and care staff to support continuity of care and maintain a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for participants.

Key Responsibilities
Team Support & Leadership
- Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and mentorship to Care Staff while working alongside the team
- Assist with training and orientation of new Care Staff to support consistency in program practices and expectations
- Support a positive, collaborative, and respectful team environment
- Share information and communicate relevant participant updates with team members and management as appropriate
- Work collaboratively with management, clinicians, program staff, and care staff to support consistency in participant care and service delivery
- Participate in team-based problem-solving and contribute ideas to improve program operations and participant support
- Participate in team meetings, training, and organizational initiatives
- Participate in relief coverage and support staffing needs as required
Participant Care & Support
- Provide supportive, trauma-informed care to individuals impacted by human trafficking and sexual exploitation
- Independently provide participant care and support while maintaining a safe and structured residential environment during assigned shifts
- Maintain a non-judgmental, non-stigmatizing, safe, and welcoming environment
- Promote participant empowerment, leadership, recovery, and belonging
- Support participants with daily routines, schedules, recovery goals, and program expectations
- Maintain clear and consistent professional boundaries
- Utilize trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and culturally safe practices
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations using de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies
- Support medication administration, storage, reporting, and MAR documentation as required
- Support the intake and orientation process for new participants entering the Live-In Program
Residential & Household Responsibilities
- Support activities of daily living including:
· Cooking and meal preparation
· Grocery shopping
· Laundry support
· Indoor and outdoor household maintenance
· Encouraging social inclusion and balanced daily activities
- Ensure adherence to residential rules and expectations
- Support the overall maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of the Live-In home
Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities
- Complete accurate and timely documentation including case notes, incident reports and Medication Administration Record protocols
- Ensure participant documentation is maintained accurately and updated as required
- Contribute feedback regarding program practices, forms, and procedures as needed
- Adhere strictly to confidentiality, privacy, ethical standards, and agency policies
- Follow organizational mandates, risk management practices, and participant protection procedures
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Social Service Work (SSW), Mental Health & Addictions, or a related human services field; equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Minimum one year experience working in a residential setting
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Strong professional documentation and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative independently
- Ability to remain calm, regulated, and professional during crisis situations
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and professional boundaries
- Flexible availability including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage needs if required
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working within the human trafficking and/or sexual exploitation sector
- Experience supporting individuals experiencing substance use challenges
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and harm reduction practices
- Knowledge of CASW Code of Ethics, values, and principles
- Experience mentoring, supporting, or guiding staff teams
